After my diagnosis with breast cancer five years ago at age 28,this book was part of my salvation. Reading stories of otherssurvival helped me to realize that cancer is beatable. I now recommend this book to other cancer patients.

This was the first book that ever made me cry. I feel so lucky to be in such great condition in stage two. For those of you who have lost hope, this book will show you that life is real. Life is worth it. Life will go on if you let it.
A book every cancer patient should read. October 26, 1998 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
Having been diagnosed with breast cancer at 25, I needed to know that I wasn't alone. I read this book and felt so confident that I was going to beat this illness with faith and prayer. Reading peoples experiences helped so much in my recovery. I'm now cancer free and encourage people who have cancer and family of cancer patients to read this inspirational book. Thank you for writing and sharing such wonderful stories.
Faith, hope and love but the greatest of these is love May 8, 2000 Jackie M. Sthilaire (Manchester, NH United States) 18 out of 19 found this review helpful
"Malignant", to hear this word when you or someone you love is diagnosed brings feelings of despair, fear and abandonment. The "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series gives you bits of humanity and makes you feel hopeful, trusting and accepting. The stories, poems and essays are put together to give to us encouragement. I myself am a 12 year survivor of stage 2 breast cancer and find the pages filled with new beginnings.
Good for those who haven't had cancer too... December 27, 2002 Kelly (Canada) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
If you have ever had a difficult time in your life, this is a good book for you. I read this book when I was having a very depressing time, a time where I was not sure I was going to make it out. This book, though, was a gateway for me. Since I don't have cancer, this book didn't inspire me in that way, but it did inspire me. I saw people that had a harder life then I did, and I realized that I would get through, that life would improve for me, and it has. :o)
